Dear Mariners,
I am very pleased to say that we will be running the Mariners’ Challenge again this year at the Boat Club.
It will take place on Sunday 14th June, starting at midday at the Boathouse, with the same format as in previous years. There will be a Mariners’ eight looking to challenge the current 1st VIII over 500m, and an opportunity for any other Mariners’ members to head out onto the river, be it for a sprint race, a relaxed paddle or a chance to row with your sons.
This year we will also be looking to name fifteen of our Filippi pairs and fours after recent ORs who represented their country at the Junior World Championships.
In addition to this, we are delighted to be welcoming back Malcolm Mace’s family to honour him with a bench in his name at the Boathouse for which he served with distinction for 38 years.
There will be food and drink on offer at the clubhouse, and a good chance to catch up with friends.

I look forward to seeing many of you through the course of the 2026 season, and I hope that we can have as good a turn out as we had in previous years for the Mariners’ Challenge.
